I have been drumming since 1976. I began my teaching career in 1990.

As a marching performer, I was a member of both the Blue Knights of Colorado

and the Blue Devils of Concord, California Drum and Bugle Corps. I also spent six years as a

founding member of the Stampede, the official drum line of the Denver Broncos.

As a set player I have been in numerous bands from the Denver area, playing mostly progressive rock

and progressive metal. As a teacher and ensemble director I have given instruction to, as well as written

and arranged for high school drum lines of all levels. In both the marching band and indoor percussion

activities, lines under my tutelage have won numerous state championships as well as a WGI World Class Championship. Teaching at the Independent World level I have worked as a technician, consultant,

and mentor to finalist ensembles competing in both WGI and DCI. Private students have gone on to perform with premiere marching ensembles including Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Coats, Blue Devils, Blue Knights, Phantom Regiment, Broken City, Mystique, R.C.C., Rhythm X as well as attend top music programs such as U.N.T. and The Berklee College of Music. I have also served as a clinician for the Yamaha Sounds of Summer percussion camp. My drum set instruction is varied and encompasses beginner to advanced levels in a multitude of styles. As an instructor, I am a strong believer in fundamentals and a well thought out, step by step approach. My methods are aimed to circumvent bad habits and establish good ones, leading to more consistent results and long term development. Helping other musicians improve their abilities has been, and remains one of the most rewarding things in my life.
